There is no problem in doing a Gtk GUI app in its own window, or to render "video" in a bare window with SDL.

Like I precised in the comments, I am searching for a way to make a normal Gtk GUI app that contains various widgets (but mainly a menu bar) and that also contain the video framed rendered by SDL (which comes from the regular update of a frame buffer or sprite positions on a SDL surface). I'm trying to make a gameboy emulator in Perl and I would like to know if it is even possible to embed SDL into Gtk ? Please can someone help me understand why it's happening
